"Be Patient"- Opening Piece

In a time so isolated, the importance of intimacy has never been more apparent. We've found ourselves grateful as ever for the little social interaction we have, discovering happiness in the smallest of moments - despite how lonely this lockdown may have felt.  

I wanted to create a gentle reminder for people as they were passing, perhaps create a temporary opportunity for reflection or offer some reassurance that this won't last forever. It's easy to overwhelmed by the world right now, confused about what our future holds and scared for how life will be post-COVID but I hoped that by leaving this piece in public, I could share my anxieties and emphasise, to whoever may read it, that they're not alone through this.  

I wanted it to sound as if I was speaking to the person reading, so originally this piece started as a text - which is why it feels slightly informal. This was deliberate. I didn't feel that anyone wanted to hear a well thought out quote but actually something personal, honest and from a place of authenticity. Embedded in this piece are my feelings and anxieties - although currently, they're unfortunately very common ones. For these emotions to be displayed so publicly, left me vulnerable but I hoped that people would see this through my words and resonate further.

It's not been easy but know that "it wont last forever, I promise."
